I am hearing a lot of conversation about a new book coming out next year that is supposedly going to change a whole bunch of things regarding the "real" cars and have a lot of folks getting a reality check. Can someone enlighten me on this subject? THanks

Re: New book coming out?
It is possible that they may be referring to the first in a series of publications which will be known as the "NCRS Authentication Library". The first book will feature as the subject GM issued 1963 through 1967 trim tags, with the first complete ECL (exception code letter) listing ever released in a publication; it contains a complete photographic analysis of the trim tag and is very well written. The book is a collaboration of work with the majority having been done by Al Grenning. This subject was discussed in one of my past “Corvette Restorer” judging chairman’s messages. I'm not sure which one but I bet someone can point you in the right direction it has also been the subject at quite a few of the recent regional judging schools.

Chris -- You may also (in addition to Roy S.'s answer) be thinking of the "Mattison" project, due (for Corvettes) sometime in 2005, if he can accumulate and organize all the info; refer to Dec 3rd thread below, under [re: Mr. Grenning].- Top

Re: New book coming out?
Thanks Roy..that must be the one folks are talking about. Seems as if a few of them are getting worried about it, as to whether their cars are really what they think they are. It will be interesting to see how it is accepted.- Top
