How is the rear cross member removed on a 67? I have the diff. out and the 2 bolts that hold the cross member to the frame but it seems to be stuck pretty good. Thanks, Tom

Re: 67 rear cross member
Biggest pry bar you can get your hands on. Don't have anything under it when it falls loose.
If you had the diff still attached, it is a good idea to have a floor jack about two inches below it so the diff doesnt crash into the floor. Actually, the weight of the diff helps get the cross member off.- Top

Re: 67 rear cross member
I remove the two factory bolts( as i recall they are about 1 1/2" long) , install a pair of 3 to 4 inch bolts, saturate the rubber cushion with penetrating oils(WD-40 as Bill suggest will do just fine). Then i go looking for Big Bubba( he's a wrecking bar, class of '63, 48" overall length, with a 45 degree attitude{?bad ass?} on one end. With the c-2 or c-3 one the lift, insert Bubba between X-member and frame bracket and let him do his thing. they usually pop down with moderate force. First time i did the dirty deed With Bubba but without the 3 to 4 inch substitute bolts, right great toenail was black the next AM.mike- Top

Re: 67 rear cross member
I had good success with removing the crossmember on my 67 by removing the crossmember bolts, replacing with slighly longer bolts with a dimple drilled into the top of the head (to accept puller point) then using a two jaw gear puller to break the arm loose from the frame.- Top
