'63 Judging Question - Balancer Date Code

The balancer on my 1963 is not original in fact it is totally incorrect.

Should I happen to find the correct part number but it has a date code of, let's say, 'A66', how important is this date code within the judging?

I have seen a number that were NOT

date stamped - I believe if it was my "A66" I'd put it down near the drawer where my J&B weld is and wait for the Xmas elves to do their magic.

Dear Esquire: next time i judge one of your vettes, I'll bring along my JB Weld-Bogus-meter. Mikie who's not ever heard of JB whatever.

I didn't know they used JB Weld in the St. Louis Plant.

Seriously, though, JB Weld should be in the same kit with WD-40 and duct tape. Never leave home without them.

Let's see Dipstick. Was it an 870 block that the elves worked on a few year? Was it a 519 or a 548 that it turned into?

Dickie(and dipstick too) : when i was prepairing my 57 FI to do battle with the LOWLIFE OF LYLE in the early 90's, i knew Dipstick would take a pen knife to the casting # in my "modified" 548 case so i avoided Mr.JB Weld. I honestly feel i used the "Good Lords Cheaters Bible" while the Columbia River Bottom Feeder used "Beelzebub's Guide To Screwing Your Buddy".

                        Not even close

From what I see from here over the last week, I missed out on a really good time. All you have to do is use the "R" word (either one) in regards to engines and it goes nuts.
