I see upper and lower NOS ball joints going for pretty big dollars. Has anyone heard of ball joints that are NOS not being usable? Can ball joints be defective directly from the manufacturer? What is the best way to test a ball joint that is not installed?
It's very unlikley that a GM ball joint will be defective. But, it's, of course, possible. That's one of the risks that one takes purchasing NOS parts. GM no longer warranties them and the seller is unlikely to, either. Usually, it's strictly as-is.
There's no way to test the ball joints that I'm aware of.
