Roger,
There is only one Resistor under your hood that is visible (some behind the regulator). That is the one for the ignition on the firewall. It's plainly visible on the firewall to the drivers side of the ignition shield. I'm sure it's there or one of some kind.
There are several capacitors that are associated with keeping the hummmm out of the radio. Check in the AIM and you can find the part numbers and the locations of those.
Were the judges from NCRS or was this a local show where the judges are not as knowledgeable? Surely no NCRS judge would tell a car owner something like that.

They're not RESISTORS; they're CAPACITORS(or, CONDENSORS) and they're part of the factory-installed radio package. If your car doesn't have a factory-installed radio, it never had them. You will find them well-shown as to application and location on sheet A5 of UPC U69 in your 1967 AIM.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
