C2- PPG paint code for 984-Sunfire yellow

Now that I have the body-on/body-off thing out of the way I am trying to find out if anyone has the accurate PPG paint number(code) for 1967 #984 Sunfire Yellow in PPG Concept Acrylic Urethane (single Coat). PPG does not list an actual number, but I am hoping someone may have asked them to scan or cross/ reference the color to a PPG code.

While I am at this point, is there any opinions for/against on the PPG Concept paint product. I doubt, given the geography involved, I would ever have the car NCRS judged, but I would like the paint to at least be a single coat opposed to BC/CC. If someone ever did want to check(rub) for color it would be there. All the negative talk on laquer scares me, plus I'm not the "wax car" type.

Thank you in advance for any direction or opinion you may have.

Usually the paint jobber can call PPG and get an offset color, that is the closest match, for you. I have done this on several colors. Come up with some weird offsets though. '67 ralley red offset is a Japanese truck color, etc. Works good on the solid colors

You can spend the extra time and effort and pretty well duplicate a lacquer type finish. You will need to spray the door jambs, hood ledge, roadster deck ledge, etc. with flatner added. Then using fineline tape with the edges rolled up, paint the exterior. This will give you the least tape line to sand out. Rub the above areas with coarse rubbing compound and not polish out. Color sand exterior to remove majority of orange peel. Makes a very slick paint job if done right and somewhat duplicates lacquer appearance.

Down side is that if you color sand, you need to get on with it in two three days after painting. From experience, do not let the paint cure too long before you do this. Ever tried sanding concrete???
