noticed on another car late 69 on the one piece side window weatherstrip there is a rectangular piece of metal "small " at the base of the strip with a screw just above the 2 philips holding the rain diverter part of the weatherstrip . mine has a hole but is not drilled through the other portions of the sheet metal that forms the windshield/bird cage . should this screw and rectangular washer be present on an early 69 or was this still in the works ? and if supposed to be present where can these rectangular washers be found?

Re: 69 a post weatherstrip

There were several changes in the pillar post weatherstrip configuration in the 68-69 period, some recored, some not. If your car doesn't have the hole that you described drilled in the attaching panel, then I'd say that it didn't have the fastner ever installed. As far as where to get the square washers, the answer is simple----Dr. Rebuild, of course. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 69 a post weatherstrip
it does have a hole in the first layer of steel in the a post, it could be a pilot hole for the assembly line to just finish up or? but it does show hand written in the 68 book and , looking for a judgment on what you have seen on the field , should the hole be drilled and install or were thewy haphazard on this portion of the w/strip , i have read piecews saying one piece /2piece w/strip, i am looking for advice , from the forum.- Top
