I realize that G.M options are a big No, No. But for those owners living back east and worry about freezing conditions or even winter storage for months for their engines this is the answer.
I installed a G.M 50's 60's ,dealer option Accessories CARTER engine heater. Elect. cost is around $10.00 for the winter months to keep my engine water and oil warm, and reduces moister under the hood. But that's me.
Where I live YES .It's like a trickle charge for your battery. Our coldest months is three. The best thing I like about it, is that it helps keep moister build up off engine parts.I also have a Carter heater in my 67 Vett.E-Bay under engine heater you can find them if you keep looking. The CARTER's are the early 50's, 60's original units, but G.M dose sell a newer design even to day.
