    '65 amp guage

I have a L-79 in a '65 coupe, I just had all the guages redone and once I put the cluster together and back into the car the amp guage reads negative, what could the problem be?

    thanks

Reverse the leads on the back of the amp guage.

      Jeremy,

Hope you didn't get that gauge cluster from me. Whoever did your cluster turned the connectors in the back upside down and that caused you to turn the plug upside down to connect it. It also reversed the polarity of the gauge making it read negative in a charging situation.

Dick is right in telling you to change the leads around. You will have to pull them from the plug and swap them. Plug it back in and it will work fine. It's a lot easier than removing the dash cluster, paying for shipping to the poor slob who screwed it up to begin with and waiting for a couple of weeks to put it back in.

      Regards,

      JR
