    Differential code 71

    I got these numbers off my 71 differential and looked them up in the TIM&JG but see no match. It reads OM1 534 W8E1. What do they mean? Lyle

      Lyle,

      It means your rear end is out of a 78 Vette and is a 3.36:1 positraction.

              Lyle, I ran across a 71 diff a while back at a guys shop who does differentials. He had 3 or 4 Corvette cores and gets $75.00 for them. Think it was for a BB.
