    question re printing posts

all right. sometimes when i press the print icon, i get a copy of only the post i am reading. soemtimes i get a complete printout of all of the titles of posts from the latest to the one i am reading, but titles only and no posted information. this can get to many pages in length and is useless. how can i get a copy of only the post that i am reading???

    Re: question re printing posts

Werner, what I have found to work is to HIGHLIGHT the post text starting with the subject line and through the last line of the poster's text. Then, when I click "print", I get what I highlighted. If I forget to highlight, then I get the index list forever.

You can also do what I do if there is group of good replies on a subject I want to save or print. Highlight, "Control C" to copy each reply, and paste in a Word Document page. This way you have the group all together.

If you're using split screen (index list window on top, reply on the bottom) you have to highlight/select the bottom reply window by clicking the cursor in it somewhere, THEN do the file menu pulldown > print. If the last window you clicked was the index, that window is highlighted and is what will print.

When I print from this forum the text prints so light that you can hardly read it. Is there a trick to get it to print darker. Haven't had this problem anywhere else.

I always recommend that you highlight the message or messages that you want to print, and copy and paste them to your favorite text editor "WordPad" "Notepad" or your word processor. This will render the text in pure black and white if nothing else.

When you get what you want then you can print from there. It is also a good idea then to save the file that you just created in your Corvette Information folder. Give it a name that has to do with the topic. Next time you gather more information on that topic open that file again, brakes.txt, and paste the new information in with what you already have.

If you do this very long on different subjects you will be surprised at the library you will soon have.

John - I am up to three 60 page documents now doing what you suggest. Pretty soon it will be worse than searching the archives...LOL...Craig

Wayne - the text is in yellow on the black background, so you have to change the text color to black to see it at all. I always dump the copy/paste content into Wordpro (or word) first, then change the text color. Works like a charm...........Craig
