67 turn signal switch part # and availability

Would anyone out there, Mr. Lucia?? know the current part number, and if available from GM, for the turn signal switch, non telescopic. I see that Long Island Corvette lists one at $55. Just want to double check first. Much faster to run down to the Chevy dealer. thanks Blake

There was a Delco replacement available a few years back. I put one on my 67 and intend to change it over to one of the repos as soon as I get around to it. The repos were not yet produced at the time. The Delco functions, but is quite different from the original. You don't want one.

      Blake-----

The original switch used for 1967 Corvettes was GM #1995131. Later, that was changed to GM #1995164. In June, 1971 the GM #1995164 was discontinued and replaced by GM #1995179 and that part remains available to this day for a current GM list price of $28.85. How it differs from the original, I do not know.

Blake, if the current GM offering is the same switch I have it will have an adapter with it make the wire connectors work. The screw holes don't line up and the emergency flasher function does not line up with the hole in the hub. Please let me know if this is not the case, as I'll order one from my local Chevy dealer as well.

Ed the part number is still in the GM system, but I believe that the only stock available is on the dealers shelves. I sold this switch of 10 years and I do not remember of a complaint about fitting. But then again I do suffer from NCRS disease

Joe, thanks for the reply with #'s. I phoned my Chevy dealer and the 1995179 came up as a headlight switch. The turn signal switch was 5698520 and of course is discontinued. thanks again Blake

Yes, the 5698520 Turn Signal Switch is discontinued. It is for the 67-68 and is exactly like the original in every way. Got one on the shelf for $75.00 plus shipping in the original Delco box. E-mail if you need the switch.
