'70/71 LT-1 & power steering option

Hello everyone:

Could someone tell me if the '70 and '71 LT-1 equipped Corvettes were available with power steering. From what I've heard, early cars were not... and something about the fact that the LT-1's larger oil pans did not allow power steering.

Could someone clarify this for me.
