    FRANKFORD PLATING

Has anyone used Frankford platining recently? I sent them my windshield posts in June. He said he would bring them to Carlisle in August.I am still waiting for them to be completed. When I am able to get them on the phone they keep saying two weeks. I called today and asked about my order. The guy had an attitude, told me to call back tomorrow and hung up on me. Thanks, Joe DeLuca

I haven't used them, but I would try to get my parts back right away. The longer you wait the less likely that is to happen. If they are having problems, you need to divorce yourself from them ASAP.

Bummer - I was just about to try their service. Well, maybe the flag just went up. DC

I used Frankford for a small test piece - They were slow to deliver - I called and stayed on top of them - got it back 2 months past the promised date - they also charged a bit more then they quoted - The work was excellent however. Based on that experience - I then used Advanced Plating - Nashville Tn with excellent resuts - finished on time- great communication - within budget and excellent work. Much cheaper price then Frankford as well.

          Members,

There is also a place in Adamsville, Tn. that I have used for years. They are Dan's owned and operated by Danny Kilburn. I believe these people have done Areba's plating and polishing in the past.

You have to specify that you want SHOW Quality.

They can be reached at 1 731 632-0103. Their prices are reasonable and their quality is high.

          Regards,

          JR

Try Charger Metal Works also in Phila just a few streets away from Frankford. Owner is Jerry Martin 215-289-9227. I inadvertantly banged up a knock off spinner. Jerry fixed and re-plated it. It was flawless !! They do plating, polishing, repairs, powder coating and whole car media blast as well.

Use to be a Martin's Plating in Philly. I used them back in the 80's. Were expensive then. Wonder if they are connected. I used Bison Plating in Wis. He is the Driveline. Had good results with them.

Jerry and Harry Martin parted their ways a few years back. They re both still in the same relative neighborhood, both not cheap but the work is excellent.

There were several dents on the ear of the knock off spinner (DONT ASK). They removed the original chrome electronically/chemically, repaired the dents flawlessly and rechromed the entire spinner. $110 and finished the work in one week just like they said. I did not think it was that expensive for the quality of work.

Dipstick, Advanced in Nashville does quality work at a reasonable (as plating goes) price. They have done several pot metal pieces for me. The detail on the items was still there. They had not buffed the edges off as some platers have a tendancy to do. Lemon Grove did the best plating that I ever had done. Big '57 Caddy convertible. But you don't even want to ask. Well into five figures.
