I just came across the passenger side half of an NOS N11 system, but the PN# is one digit off of what I would expect it to be. It's debossed PN# is 3845737 with the usual GM stamp and date coding. I would expect it to carry a PN of, 3845736 (or 735 for the driver's side). The config looks the same, but not sure what the difference is. Would the General issue a PN just one digit off of another part number if the part isn't different?

Re: C2: N11 exhaust PN# 3845737
I have a set of NOS N11 on my '66 BB coupe, and the PN's and date code info is debossed on them - there is no evidence of ink stamps etc. As for the unit listed above, I looked through the tech board archives and found one other reference to PN 3845737. The post referred to a 3845767 PN ink-stamp on an N11 muffler, in addition to the 3845736 debossed PN. No additional info was supplied about the succession of PN's in this posting, although the unit had what appeared to be two separate welded-on hangers instead of just one. The unit I'm referring to has only one C2 type hanger mounted on the aft end of the muffler. I'd be happy to email you a pic if you are interested in seeing it for yourself.- Top

Re: C2: N11 exhaust PN# 3845737
I have a set on my 65 that I purchased from GM in 1984. They have the P/N 3845735 and 3845736 on them. They are also are embossed with 1 2 101 4 A.
Then I have a set I purchased from GM in 1996 before they were discontinued. One has the P/N 3845737 and 2 1 270 4 on it. The other one does not have P/N, but has 1 2 191 1 on it.
From this I would say GM had someone else make a run of N11 exhausts in the 90's.- Top

Yes the "off road system" was available only as an assembly that consisted
of the muffler and rear pipe section, but both the muffler and pipe probably had their own part number. They just weren't available separately through
service parts.
Joe can probably shed some light on this subject.
