    66 Power Antenna

Is there a source for repair parts for a 66 power antenna. Mine has been in the attic for the past 20 or so years. It still has the plastic coating around the motor and the mast is still good but it feels as if the motor is locked up.
I didn't want to cut off the coating if parts are N/A
    Thanks

Not sure what you mean when you said "it feels as if the motor is locked up". How did you check it out for operation?

I wasn't aware that OEM sold the replacement parts -- only a complete bebuild of your 65-66 antenna. Be prepared for sticker shock to the tune of $400-500 with your core. Although I'm building a flight judged car, I couldn't justify this kind of price. Repro antenna sells for $160-180.

Do a search of archives. There have been several posts about this. There are several articles in past Restorers about taking it apart and checking it out yourself. If you can't find them let me know. I wrote one of them.

            Thanks everyone for the info.
I found the past articles in the restorer. I finally got the motor to run but as expected the mast is still doesn't work. I will disassemble it this week and if I can't repair as per the restorer articles, at least I will know what to look for at the swap meet next month in Kissimmee.
Does anyone have OEM GLASS web site or phone number in case I win the lotto.

Try 1-800 283 2122. BTW, after you have seen a real mast, the available reproductions aren't even close if you are having the car judged. They can be spotted easily from 10 feet or so away, that's how poorly they replicate the original. The OEM rebuild is the only way to get one that looks and works correctly from what I have seen, yes they are expensive (I bought one for each of my '65s) but so is everything else in life.

As Clup stated the repro is waaaaaay off target. You would almost be as well off to install a universal power antenna of any discription.

                  Jim,

There is another fella' that dabbles in the antennas. His last name is Sindelar and he works at Chicago Corvette. Also expensive.
