1955 wheels

I know what the judging manual says about 55 wheels--but I have two additional questions not dealt with there:
1) are they riveted or welded? If welded, with dogbones or not?
2) Does the wheel center have the extra "hump" as it steps down toward the outer rim (raised concentric circle) or does it not.
Anyone know?

Early! as any early Corvette may have left overs from the last year, riveted. But all that I'v seen original and mine are welded. All dogbone,and all had the raised concentric circe or hump , much later ones din't have the dogbone , but did have the hump.I have owned "6" 55's. And wrote about original 55 wheels in 1987,in SACE. Remember the tubless tire came out in late 54.

Colvin says 1955 Corvette wheels were "Riveted", period.

And even though Colvin plagiarized your, and my, "widely disseminated" materials, I tend to agree with Braatz.
