    Thanks for policy statement

I appreciate the NCRS policy statement offered by Terry (in a post below) about putting many non-technical articles in the Corvette Restorer. I had no idea this was directed by our elected officers.

I'll send my comments about Restorer content straight to my Regional representative in the future. I apologize for boring the rest of you with my thoughts about the magazine. I had no idea the talking car, road tour, social event, and judging articles were so popular with most of the members. Next time I see one of those "My Mother The Car" articles, I will look at it with new-found respect. Sort of like the respect I have for Reality TV shows. I may not appreciate them, but I can't argue with success.

    Jerry,

Thanks for the tip on sending comments for Restorer content to the Regional Representative...

As I've mentioned to you on another board, I'm hot on the trail of finding "Mr. Ed, The Talking Horse", as I've heard that he has some rather sensational "Found in a Barn" stories that he could share...

Imagine, we could get that content straight from the horses mouth, literally...

Non tech articles are allowed in Restorer, but NOT on this discussion board??

George: By title, this is the NCRS Technical Discussion Board. Can't we just live by that definition without question or confrontation...? DC

No confrontation Dennis, I was just trying to figure out what the other posters were saying. It didn't make sence to me that the magazine can contain non-tech articles, but the board can't. OK with you?

Frankly George, I'm getting old enough that confrontation doesn't really turn my crank much any more. I'm quite satisfied to just offer what I can for the good of the order. Merry Christmas, Dennis... And George, there has been a time of two I've made a post that wasn't exactly "technical" in nature. Best, DC

What was the date and time of the original thread? I couldn't find it.

I think The Restorer has a good mix of technical and non-technical articles.

Somebody has to balance guys like me - my next article will include the equations of motion for a SHP mechanical lifter camshaft.

Duke, original thread started on an unrelated topic: "Urban myth or proven fact? Jerry Bramlett -- Friday, 12 December 2003". If you are set up for the standard five days of posts, it should be at the very bottom of the index page.

We old guys (members for ten years or more) are perhaps a little spoiled. When we joined up, we were really happy to find and join an organization that dug deep down into the nuts and bolts of Corvettes, and educated us on the extreme details. We are a little paranoid about that changing. Some issues of the "Restorer" now appear to be educating us about a lot more than the "nuts and bolts".

Jerry voiced concerns a few were having individually. I had also noted a lot of coverage I wasn't interested in, and realized that I wasn't reading each new issue anymore. I thought it meant I was losing interest in the hobby. The problem with getting in the habit of not reading the mag is that you will miss a good article every now and then.

BTW...Equations of motion for SHP mechanical lifter camshaft...you might include an executive summary for us "nuts and bolts" guys.

                    Jerry-----

I can't really say that I'm too interested in the non-technical articles in the Restorer, either. However, there was one that I read and will never forget. That was the article by the late Howard Kirsch regarding his trip to California and back to transport 1953 #003 which he and Les Bieri and John Amgwert had purchased at the Monterey auction.
