Looks simple enough. Align slots front or back/remove or add shims. Not close to fitting. Too high, mostly. Any ideas appreciated.

Re: 54 Trunk Alignment
OK ! adding shims that are the size of the hinge having the three bolts will only raze the lid if needed. If what I think your telling use is that the trunk line at the back is to high were it meets the body line. then=
To lower the truck line to meet the body line you just add a shim under the top "single" bolt, that will pivot the trunk line down to meet the body line.- Top

Re: 54 Trunk Alignment
I see where that will help a little. I think I remember a shim made for that. Of course it's been apart 30 years so my recollection isn't very good. Know of anything to help the corners short of cutting and reglassing? Higher than center part. Guess a compromise of too low too high is in order.- Top

Re: 54 Trunk Alignment
Find who makes the SPONG rubber weatherstripping , it will really help bring down the corners, your's is to hard. The shim your talking about is like the large shims you have but the top was cut off also had a slot in them so that you didn't have to remove the bolt.- Top

Re: 54 Trunk Alignment
That's exactly what I remember on the shim. The weatherstrip is new Corvette Rubber co. I think the lid is warped. I've seen a lot of old glass out of shape.
I'll see what happens to the weatherstrip after I get it shimmed and it sits for awhile.- Top

Re: 54 Trunk Alignment
Corvette Central has the partial shims in a kit, #541175, to shim just the front or rear hinge-to-lid attachments; shimming only the rear attachment (upper one with the lid open) will bring the front edge down.- Top
