I am researching information on a 1958 Corvette that currently has a standard transmission. The engine is supposed to be original and the dates align with the build date. The engine code (DG) is for the base engine with the Powerglide transmission (code 313). Could some one please provide me with information on the differences between a Powerglide for a passenger car and one for a Corvette of this vintage? Would there be date stamps or other markings that one would needed when finding a replacement Powerglide transmission?
Thanks Ray
