Calling 80-82 Corvette Owners

I'm trying to get something straight here regarding the oil pan used for 80-82 Corvettes. I know that this oil pan used a right side dipstick provision. However, I'm curious as to how it otherwise differed from the 75-79 style pans. Could some of you look at yours and tell me where the drain is located? I believe that it will be on the lower rear surface of the pan rather than the side as was 75-79, but I'd like to confirm that. If that's the case, then I'm pretty sure that I know what the configuration of the pan is.

Joe,

You are indeed correct in your statement of location of drain plug location. My 800 mile 82 has the pan plug located middle rear of pan. Hope this helps.

My 82 has it in the rear center of the pan.
