    C2-Exhaust tip extensions

My 66 327 coupe has slightly curved exhaust extensions out the rear. I have an extra set that I was thinking about replacing, however they are straight. My question is: How far are they supposed to extend through the exhaust bezels out the back? Also, Are they supposed to be straight? Which is correct? Thanks for any help.

Straight without any bends and the cut at the rear of extension is on about a 45 degree.Originals were Seamed and originals had no part # stamped in them while serv replacements had part # stamped on end closest to mufflrs. Repo's have wall thickness about 25% greater than originals and repo's lack the Seam defect that orig's possess. mike

JG is in error on that one, I agree with Mike 100% on this based on originals I have taken of my cars (no numbers) and service replacements bought (with numbers) in the early 70's.

Original-type exhaust tips have a slight "bell" on the muffler end. This "bell" should seat on the end of the muffler tailpipe extension. If everything else in the system is right, then the tips should extend the proper distance from the valence panel.

Thanks for the replies. I believe the extra set that I have had around for some time might be original replacements. They are straight and have a 45 degree cut at the end and there are no #'s on them. I was just wandering how far they should stick out from the bezels. The current one's on the car only stick out approx. 2-3" and are slightly curved down. Merry Christmas to all!!!!
