C-4 Aluminum Wheels

Happy Holidays:

Maybe someone knows the answer to this. I have a 1986 coupe, with the Z-51 suspension. I believe the Z-51 stock wheels are 16 x 9-1/2". Is it possible to run a set of 16x 8-1/2" stock 1986 rims (non Z-51) on my car? Will there be any handling/mechanical difficulties?

I dont see why they wouldnt do fine.

I agree with Wayne; this swap will cause no problems, whatsoever. Keep in mind, however, that both the standard and Z-51 wheels are directional. So, you need 2 each of the left side wheels and 2 each of the right side wheels, just like you have now.

Thanks guys. My current wheels and tires are in good shape and original so I want to keep them for judging. I then would use the 2nd set for general driving.

I thought the 9 1/2" wheels only went on the back, and still used 8 1/2" up front. Still directional sets, but not the same wheel all around.

For 1986 with Z-51 the wheels, front and rear, were all 9-1/2" wide.
