    Parking brake warning light switch

I have a 62' that came without any of the parking brake warning light parts. I've just collected all the parts and am now in need of some switch installation help. I know approximately where the switch goes, but need help on the exact location, can anyone help me? The switch I bought is used and has been painted semi-flat black, is this correct? The switch has a tab sticking up that appears as it should be bent to a 90 degree angle to hold the spring actuator in place, is this correct? If you have a correctly mounted switch could anyone email me a photo of the switch and the mounted switch?

I haven't looked to confirm this, but I think there is a pretty good picture in teh AIM of the switch installation. I'll be glad to shoot you a pic, but it may be after the festivities have died down before I have time

        Bill,

I have a '62 that had the parking brake warning light switch in place when I bought it. I am currently working on getting the light working (needed wiring) and noticed a tab sticking up on the switch similiar to what you descrided and also thought that it should be bent 90 deg. over. Now that I hear that you have a similiar appearing switch I think it might be correct as is.

The wiring on a 62 is very simple. One wire from the fuse panel to the switch, one wire to the light from the switch. The diagram shown in the ST12 is incorrect for 61-62.
