    '67 BB FAN SHROUD

I put the body on today and installed the radiator, its' support and fan shroud. I rotated the fan to check the clearance. The fan just touches the shroud on one side. I tried to make what little adjustments are availabe, but there doesn't appear to be any real adjustment for this. The radiator support is centered between the inner fenders.

where are tips of fan blade touching the shroud?More shims at frame-core support interface would correct fan tips hitting top of shroud.Core support should be centered between frame rails which ideally would put core support centered around the fan.mike

      Mike,

I shimmed the support to have equal shims at each inner fender. I'll shim it again centering it at the frame attachment instead. Thanks...

        Mike,

I centered the support in the front frame mounts. It helped, but the blades are still very close on the right side. If I connect the upper shroud bracket to the radiator support it pulls it back to a worse position. The hole for the upper bracket in the shroud is about 1/2" off center and there is only a vertical adjustment on the bracket. I'll try one more time to position the shroud to clear all the blades, then tighten the mounting bolts. If that doesn't work, I'll try a new shroud in case this one is out of shape some how. This one has never been on the car, it had a replacement when I boughht it.

As usual, it was installer error. When I put the engine in the frame the right motor mount did not completely settle into place, but rather was raised about 1/2" more than the left. I lifted up on the opposite motor mount and it shifted into place. It's always something....Thanks
