1990 Pass Side Power Seat

Two of the three functions for the power seat doesn't work. You can see adjuster cables rotating inside the clear cover. It appears to be the transmission or the end of the cables may be stripped. I checked with a Chev dealer and they told me the only way you can get a transmission is to order the whole adjuster assembly which costs about $500. Any one know of some that can rebuild these transmission. How difficult is it to get it out and can I check the adjuster cables with the seat still in the car.

I took the seats out on my 90 a number of times and never found it difficult. I replaced the pump on the driver's side but had a similar problem on the passenger as that which you describe. It would churn but not go. I just left it alone not finding an easy, inexpensive fix.

As I recall, there were only four bolts that held the seat in place but never took on the challenge you describe.
