    still a coolant draining problem

Well, I tried the first suggestion for draining the coolant. I found 2 allen head plugs in the middle of the engine about 2 inches up. I broke 2 sockets before going to the 2nd suggestion. I started the engine and let it run a few minutes and nothing came out. I am thinking the thermostat is closed and therefore no coolant will go into the radiator until it reaches 190. What am I doing wrong? Thnak, Jim

The bottom of those water jackets is normally full of crud, and nothing comes out unless you stick an awl or screwdriver in the hole and break the crud loose - then you'll get a TORRENT of coolant - have your drain pan ready!

You really should get those plugs out, try going to Sears and getting a half inch drive, at least if you break theirs they will replace for free.

Get a six point socket when you go to sears as i believe the plugs will be hex heads. mike
