    69 ball joint removal

    Just wondering if anyone knows how to separate the ball joint from the spindle without damaging the boot or stud? The old fork and hammer method that I used to use for flat rate in the garage is not my prefered method,if you know what I mean. Thanks

    Greg-----

    Two methods:

    1) The "dual hammer" method described in the service manual;

    2) A 2 jaw press type tool with a screw-type mandrel. Old Forge makes one that works well for both ball joints and tie rod ends.

      since their cone or wedge fit,only takes a slight compression to pops them out.
