    C2 '67 seats - ID tag

After removing both passenger and driver's seat assemblies, I noticed a tag underneath each seat, about 3/8" wide and about 3" - 4" long (folded over), and attached to the seat springs. It had "AMP" stamped on it. The tag is black, and the type you'd find if you used one of those self-stamping 'gun-style' labelers.

I pulled the seats out to remove the "hockey sticks", and found this tag when I did an inspection of the underside.

This is just for general information, although if there's any significance to this, I'd like to know.

    Thanks.

    Re: C2 '67 seats - ID tag

Tom -- Here's what's on my '65s: Late convertible, STD interior; (both) seat bottoms -- 2 tags folded together; one [SG-3866415-4], other [ 7-19 ]. One seat back; first tag [SG-3863371-2]; second tag [ 7-6 ].

On my early coupe (also STD interior): seat bottom (one tag) [SG-3863276].

Believe they are part # and assembly date tags. Don't know why the early car's seat had different part # from the late; maybe a slight design change. Would be curious to hear if non-black vinyl and leather interiors have different #'s.

Those are ID tags for the seat frame & spring assembly, which was purchased from an outside supplier; St. Louis only assembled the foam and covers to the purchased frame assemblies.

Wayne/John - The seat tags are from a late Nov. '66 car, and the seats are vinyl (saddle). No other tags of any kind are to be seen on the seat underside. I'll take a second look and see if other tags/numbers are evident.

Incidentally, after 37 yrs.+, the doggone burlap is in showroom condition. In fact, the whole seat is like new. Unbelievable for its age.
