Well, Santa did NOT leave the FI distributor I needed. And I was soooo good this year. I have expanded the scope of part numbers to include any 1958 through 1962 FI distributor that will fit the '57 283/283, tach drive not necessary. How about a 915? Anyone have a distibutor that they would part with or have a lead on an available unit? Thanks for the help. Happy Holidays to all! Terry Plata

Re: Check with Jerry Bramlett
Copied from the user profiles:
A grim and humorless old man with a repair shop for '57 - '67 Corvettes in Mobile, Alabama. Yes, I speak FI. Home/shop phone: (251) 478-4003. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
If Jerry doesn't have one, check John DeGregory. (724) 832-3786. John will probably have one, but it may be attached to a unit.- Top

Re: FI Distributor Need!
I'm using a full set of the 57-62 style FI shielding. The top shield is the 62 version. I also use a NAPA 64-5 FI dist cap (Echlin RR168). These caps have the short towers and brass terminals, and, as far as I know, these caps are the ONLY ones available on the market with the short towers as the originals had. They look just like a Delco cap, but without the Delco, R, Patent logo. By the way, I've also converted it to electronic with a PerTronix 1181 unit.- Top
