1966 repro spinners

I recently bought reproduction spinners for my hubcaps. The build quality was very poor, as the threads for the screws were not machined well. The screws were too big. When I called to complain I was told that they were aware of the problem and were mailing me new screws that would fit. Well, I received the new scews and they didn't fit either, some would not go in all the way, while others were easier to screw in. The flags in the spinners also looked bad compared to the originals. The chevy bowtie was hardly a bow tie. The catalog did say the spinners were "foreign made" but they came in 4 small GM Restoration boxes. I just returned them and will look elsewhere. Anyone found good repro's out there? And will the repro's pass NCRS judging?

I have seen several original sets on Ebay recently, not cheap, but I don't know how much the repros are. You can always bid what you are comfortable with for originals and see what happens. By the time you pay for return shipping for poor repros (hopefully you didn't have to) originals might not be so expensive.

I got a set of NORS from paragon about 20 years ago. perhaps they still have some nors as richard f, former owner, was notorious for buying large quantities of nos and nors parts from chevy before they were discontinued. good luck, mike

Last I checked....

Paragon had sufficient stock of '66 wheel cover spinners but was bone dry on NOS '65 spinners....
