Last night I was introduced to a man that owns an engine rebuid shop and I thought I struck GOLD. In conversation he found out I owned a 59 vette and was looking for a correct 519 block. His dad had passed the shop down to him and he remembered a complete corvette engine being rebuild and never picked up at the shop. Other bits of info told me it might have been my block. But as it turns out he does have a complete engine from a 59 car, original broach marks and stamping, not mine. But a june of 59 car (F615CQ) my car was built early May 59. So I can say I was close but not close enough and I still need HELP. I am still going to try to purchase and maybe someday I'll be able to trade. I guess like lots of others I AM STILL SEARCHING!!

Re: Missing "519" block story, Still Need,
Take a look at the Judging Reference Guide. I believe that the point deduct would be very minimal for an incorrect date only. Might be worth thinking about.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Missing "519" block story, Still Need,
I think the points would be lost for all, because it was built after my car. I want a correct pad and dated block, I'll find it someday.- Top

Re: Missing "519" block story, Still Need,
You would get credit only for the casting number. You would lose all points for the casting date and pad even if the pad was correct for your application. If the casting date is incorrect, the pad is not judged.- Top

Re: Missing "519" block story, Still Need,
My car is build appr. Aug 8 '59 so that engine would be very interresting since I have an incorrect Camero 305 engine currenly installed. Do you know what he was asking for it and if it is still available ?
