I have come across a 68 427 vette that I want to purchase the #s match and is in nice shape (price is right!!)but I am confused on the color code following is the s/n can someone help me decode the original color? s/n 194378s415950 thanks in advance

No color code in serial #.....

The last 5 digits tell you the production # of the car. Color code can be found on a tag rivited on the left door frame.

What's the 68 got? motor,ps.pb????convertible?? It seems that you my want to investigate "A good price" if you tell us what it has. Don't take this wrong, If you don't no where to find the color codes,build dates etc, you may not know what a good deal on a 68 is. Is there rust on the frame(holes), or frame damage?? jc 68/427
