    C1 Model 53-55

    Dear Corvette lovers,

I'm considering getting a project 54 or 55 car. I found a few of them in the States: e.g. a basket case with a lot of essential parts for 15k (which need a enormous amount of work, as shown on the picture underneath) and a light blue 54-er for 23k (which is in a resonable, non-driving state). Does any of you know any more of these model for sale and if so can you send me the link to where it's on display (if available).

    greetings,
    Rob.

Rob: regardless of which basket case 53 to 55 you choose, try your best to get all parts. For instance, a radio for a 53-55 will typically run 2 to 3 k as will nice side curtains. if you buy a partially complete 54 for 15k, you could easily double that figure to acquire missing parts.mike

      Mike,

You're absolutely right although the idea is to work on the car because to me that is 2/3 of the fun (and 1/3 for driving it).

If only 15k needs to be added to make it top flight I wouldn't doubt for a minute to buy it right now. I'm afraid it would cost at least 25k to get all the needed parts (number matching) to change the basket case into a show car.

      greetings,
      Rob.

I just bought a blue 54 after looking quite a while. I almost bought a nice one from a guy in NC but I didn't want the restoration challenge. If you want I will email his address. It was a blue car with a resoration started 15-18 years ago and stopped. Most parts there and most work done. Basically it needs to be put together.

          Naja succes.
