I am looking at a Corvette Order Copy from a car that I am interested in and need some help please. I have Noland Adams' book here and some of the ECL codes for this L36 car don't match with what is in Adams' book. Can anyone decode this for me please? 8STD TM, 02636AA, 02G81FA, 02M21AB, 02QB1AA, 02U69AA, 01A02AA, 02N14AA, 02U61AA, 02Y73AA, 02Y82AA, 02Y98YB. Also, should the car's VIN be listed on the Order Copy? Thanks in advance! Mark

Re: '67 Corvette Order Copy
Mark, The first should be 02L36AA which is 427/390hp, G81 FA,3:70 Posi for 396/427 4 spd, M21, close ratio 4spd, QB1, Redline Tires 7:75x15, U69, AM-FM radio, N14, sidepipes. I don't know what the others are. I looked at the tank sticker for my 67 BB convertible and I don't recognize those other codes. As far as the Vin#, it does not appear anywhere on the tank sticker(order copy). There should however be a two or three digit number handwritten in the upper right, usually in a circle. This number was used to sychronize the body line with the chassis line. Numbers were used in cycles of 500 and were closely tied to the last three digits of the VIN. Most of the time in 67 the last three digits of the VIN were within five numbers of the handwritten sync number.- Top

Re: '67 Corvette Order Copy
I think that if the car was equipped with an L36, it should be written on the tank sticker like mine below. See the 2nd line...07L79AA, 350 V-8 Turbofire. PT

Re: '67 Corvette Order Copy
Mark,
Tank sheet is not correct. the Y codes on the bottom of your list indicate it was an AO Smith built body. its common knowledge AOS did not build big block cars. I dont have all my info out tonight, but heres some anomilies i cought off the top of my head, 02U69AA is amfm (ecl AA) is for a base no option car, The unique aosmith codes are as follows: 02Y61AA is tinted windshield, 02Y73AA is AM FM Radio, 02Y82AA is Tuxedo Black, 02Y98YB is Corvette Spt Cpe. these codes only appear on ao smith tank stickers, look and see if it says dow-smith on the top as well.- Top

Thanks to All!
Thanks to all who responded here and sent pics of their tank sheets. Seems obvious that the sheet is bogus, so we'll move on to the next potential vehicle. What a great resource the members of the NCRS are to those of us that have a lot to learn. Thanks again to you all! Mark- Top
