I have new springs and plates with a new Eaton clutch pack. The new springs have an uncompressed height of 1.365" and a wire diameter of 0.148", whereas the old springs have an uncompressed height of 1.730" and a wire diameter of 0.107". The new springs are supposed to be "standard" and rated at 400#. Can anyone identify these springs by the given measurements?
Are these springs, the old and the new green in color? I have a new set of springs in hand and they are the same as your old spec. Have had them for some time. Use your old springs as they sound like they are just fine. The clutch pack is what wears anyway.
The old ones are green; the new ones are a yellowish green. I have completely compressed the new springs and plates (the new plates are thicker also) and the assembly is still too wide to be inserted between the side gears. I guess I'll be returning the springs.
