I found an old brochure in a folder with some pages from a 1957 Hot Rod Magazine. It's from a garage sale I went to a long time ago. The back page of it is shown on the web link below.

This brochure offers a plexiglass hardtop, along with other "hardtops from $195". I wonder how many such hardtops were produced, and if they were made by this supplier in the Rochester, NY area.

The brochure has four pages and offers many other replacement panels, along with a "beautiful front end shell" for $295.

That's identical to the Acme Fiberglass catalog (San Francisco) that we printed many years ago in the Restorer, The tops were rather crude in how they attached, and were basically unfinished on the inside. I can understand why someone would have bought a Scott or Plasticon top for a 53-55, because GM had no hardtop for those--but why someone would pay good money for a poor-quality, lousy-looking top for a 56-60, when GM built a beautiful one, escapes me.
