    3832518 Springs

Can someone please tell me what year these springs are for (3832518)? I've had these for quite sometime and have no idea what the application is. The tag is still rapped around them so maybe they're worth something

    Thank you,
    John Osterholm

John these are the short but stiff springs used with the optional suspension either FE7 or F41 or both. I used a pair in my 70 to replace the standard suspension and liked them.

      Jim and John-----

Yes, these springs are the F-40/F-41/FE-7 front springs used from 1963 through 1973. They were the very last spring for 1953-82 Corvettes to be available from GM. However, they were discontinued about 2 or 3 years ago. The part number for these springs never changed, while most others did over the years.

Joe, Are you saying these springs are also correct for a 1962?

No, they are not correct or, even, usable on a 1962. I was simply pointing out that of all the springs ever used on Corvettes during the 53-82 period, these were the last ones that you could get from GM. And, now, you can't even get them.

I believe what you mean is that 3832518 springs were used on F-40, F-41 & Z07 front springs from 63-73. Recall FE7 was introduced in 74 with the 340519 springs and Z07 used these springs as well.

              Tom------

Actually, my mistake was to include anything besides F-40/F-41. The HD suspension for 1973 was called F-41. Z-07 is a performance package. It includes a number of "options" which make up the "package". For 1973, none of these options were available seperately. The Z-07 package included F-41 and J-56. I don't think that you'll find reference anywhere in the 1973 AIM to Z-07. However, you should find reference to its COMPONENTS, F-41 and J-56.

His question was about the springs and those years that used the springs which you answered and less about the associated RPOs. I didn't get the feeling he was looking for the mix of RPOs it was packaged with...one of which included Z07.
