Finding the '67 Frame VIN number - Thanks Guys

Thanks to advice recently provided by Wayne Midkiff, Tom Barr and Joe Lucia, I was able to locate the frame VIN number on the left rear frame area. It was almost even with the #4 body mount..(really hard to see). I was able to clearly read the last 4 digits (4875), however I could not read the first few. At least now I know that my VIN plate under the glove box matches the frame number. It's one of those things that would otherwise keep me awake at night, not knowing if the numbers matched. Knowledge is power..LOLOL

How many digits were actually stamped ? My VIN # is 14875...so should the stamping just have 5 digits or was the "S1" included in the frame stamping ?

I'm still hoping that someday I'll find the original engine block stamped 14875..does anyone have this block sitting in their garage collecting dust ?..the truth is out there...somehow my car ended up with a March '67 block stamped 15559...wanna trade ?

    Thanks again guys..

    Regards

    Craig Jewett # 28049 '67 L-79 A/C coupe

Hi Craig, glad you found your frame VIN #. Even though you can read only the last 4 digits, the full # "whacked" on your car by St.Louis was 7S114875. Of course there's always the other location to check, if you have occasion to raise the body 4" off the frame.
