Does anyone know how to repair the hinge (pivot) bracket for the C2 vent windows? Its the lower hinge that is mounted on the window. It looks like the original is spot welded. Is there any tricks in doing this repair,or a easy way to fix the broken one? Thanks Ken

Re: C2 Vent Window Hinge Repairs
Remove entire vent assembly from the door then remove the glass from the channel and then you'll be able to mig weld(with stainless wire so you can buff out the tell-tale repair) the hinge to the stainless channel. good luck. mike- Top

Re: C2 Vent Window Hinge Repairs
I agree, except I would TIG or heliarc weld the repair. I find it easier and cleaner and cooler (temperature) than mig welding.
Like I said I agree with the method, I just use a different type of weld.

Re: C2 Vent Window Hinge Repairs
I worked for GM back then as a Manufacturing Engineer on passenger car and truck vent windows and unless my memory has completely failed, all vent glass frames were plated cold rolled steel. The fix is correct, just be careful to maintain the proper length of the shaft with respect to the frame.- Top
