    Early 1960 VIN plates

Regarding early 1960 VIN plates, which are attached to the driver's door jam area.

How were these plates attached to the car? Rivets or screws?

What are the plates made out of? Aluminum or Stainless Steel?

Is the VIN number stamped from the front or embossed from the rear?

What is the size of the characters in the VIN number?

    Any and all help appreciated.

Ed, The 1960 early vin tag was made from stainless steel, stamped from the front with 3/16" charachters and secured with two screws. Chuck
