    Need parts C2

    Greetings!
    I am removing my original 67 300hp for storage and installing a 400 hp + for fun!
    I would like to look original so I need a cable drive distributor with a electronic module and high energy coil.Any availability out there?
    I also need a referal for a shop that refinishes exhaust manifolds and a chrome shop for my bumpers,and a set of early 350hp valve covers in excellent condition.

    Does anybody know whats the widest tire I can get under the fenders with out rubbing.Im O.K. with a wider tire in backThanks!

      Dave MSD has a tach drive original size type electronic distributor that you can purchase for your ignition upgrade for your 400 HP transplant. The MSD part # 8572 can be viewed at www.msdignition.com. I believe that Mallory still offers one with the tach drive but it does not come with a vacuum advance unit which is undesirable for almost all driving.

          Dave - I would suggest Jerry MacNeish at Camaro High Performance, he refinishes the exhaust as well as aluminum intake manifolds. I know John Hinckley has had excellent results from Jerry. See link below........Craig

              I have used the MSD unit with stock points and had good results. You can paint the unit black and mount it on one of the frame heat shields. Carefull conceal the wiring, use the MSD coil and paint it black. Looks very close, and runs a lot better.

                  Hey Thanks guys!
                  MSD looks like you have to purchase a external Ignition unit replacing the coil,which I dont want to do.I did e mail them To see if thats all they offer.The distributor(8572) looks fine providing it fits under the sheilding.
                  Any comments?

                      The external unit does not replace the coil, it triggers it. This is the unit I was talking about concealing on the frame heat shield. A properly set up MSD makes plug fouling a thing of the past. Also eliminates most hard starting problems.
