    '67 BIG BLOCK OIL RECOMMENDATION

I'm getting ready to start my rebuilt big block. What is the current recommended weight oil. (I am in southern California, so there won't be any temp below around 40 degrees).

Rob, Just make sure you DO NOT use a synthetic or synthetic blend oil until your engine is past the break-in period.

Re: '67 BIG BLOCK OIL RECOMMENDATION

From my experience, don't use synthetic in any Chevy engine with the two piece rear main oil seal. Synthetic will invent new places to leak, and everyone knows the only vintage small and big blocks that do not leak oil are the ones that do not have oil in them.
