54 frame #E54S004635 has engine 0I67247 F55YG. What could this engine have come from?

I believe that "YG" is some sort of truck application, but that's all I can tell you.

If I'm reading your post correctly this would be from one of the very RARE 6 cylinder 1955 Corvettes!!

Rick, out of curiosity what is the casting date on that block. Located on the passanger side rear near the starter solenoid. Should be a letter for the month and a number for the year.

Some late '54's had a "55" pad stamp, and high VIN tended to have high serial on the stamp. Check the casting dates- You just might have the ORIGINAL engine. Imagine that, a C1 with the original engine.
