    C3 1970 Keys

Can someone tell me: Is the ignition key the same key as the door locks? Are they all square "J" keys or are the doors supposed to be round keys? What about the alarm key? The keys that I have now are not the original ones and they are all square head keys. Thanks for the help.

Don, the square head GM key should open the doors and start the ignition. For 1970 the square key should have a J on it. The glove box or center rear storage comparment and the spare tire lock should be opened with the round head GM key. It should have a K on it. The alram key for early 1970 models was a round head Briggs and Stratton key it should have an alpha-numeric code with a letter follwed by three numbers. Later model 1970s and '71 & '72 used the round head GM key to operate the alarm system. Hope this helps.

Also the round keys are all keyed the same for the glove box, spare lock and alarm system (if not a B&S). Any good locksmith can change the locks to work wiht only one key. Jim
