Recently after not having driven my car for a few weeks, I got in and started the beast up and noticed that the amp gauge needle initially jumped up then dropped completely down to -40. Since then it barely moves when I run the car, staying at -40. I had the alternator tested and it shows to be putting out 13-14 volts. Do I need to have the amperage output also tested? The guy at the parts shop did not offer that test. Any help is appreciated.
