Inspection marks, inner fenderwells, great guys

Hello everyone, Can you tell me where the various paint dabs are expected to be found on the frame and parts on my 67 big block? Also, can anyone tell me the proper paint to use on the interior fender wells. (I assume the firewall in natural?). Also, where are the judges expecting to see white grease other than the male and female hood latches? Can anyone tell me the proper paint manu and color for black out? Thanks much, BTW I met Joe Lucia, Patrick Hulst, Chuck Gongloff and Paul Dombrowski at Bloomington and even though I didn't think it was possible, I was even more impressed with meeting them in person. What a great group of guys. It was one of the highlights of my Bloomington experience. We have a really great group of people in the NCRS.... Thanks fellas, looking forward to dinner next year, Is anyone going to carlisle? Thanks, Tony D

    Tony,

    Thanks for the comments.

Regarding the inner fenders, firewall, wheelwells and door jambs (68 & later) they were all painted a semi-flat to medium shade of black. A very close shade is available thru Quanta or Eastwood. I also just used Krylon's SemiFlat on the '72 driver project (the one that's getting done WAY beyond driver status) in the wheelwells and was surprised how good/accurate it was. The engine compartment I previously painted with the Eastwood product and it looks great, but I ran out before I got to the wheelwells.

Regarding the chassis marks, assuming your car is beyond the stage of getting/giving this information, I would do two things. First, call Quanta with details of your car, and have them help you with the specifics. They sell all the correct paints for this, and are very helpful. Second, I would purchase the 63-72(?) chassis restoration book available thru NCRS. Between these two sources, you should do well.

E-mail me direct if you need more specifics.

        Book

Just to complement what Patrick said, the book is Corvette Chasis Resto Guide (53-72). I have the book and is very good in detailing chasis marks and stencils. Thanks, best from Argentina Roberto NCRS #30019 RMC
