Just when your making progress.... I can't seem to figure out how to get the rear trailing-arm, axle/flange "C" Bolt Locks in place. The AIM and Shop Manual make it look like falling off a log. But every time I try to tighten the bolts, the C Lock twists and bends in the direction that I'm wrenching.I think I have the correct part, but they are quite thin...whats the trick? Thank you, AC

Re: C2 Rear Arm Bolt-Locks
Gene, you might have someting there. I noticed in a recent picture of a "correct" NCRS picture. The '63 in question had, at least from what I couldsee, a different looking Bolt-Lock Clamp. It appeared to have several vertical ridges for possibly strength, and it also seemed wider. The ones I have from Long Island are very similar to the light Exhaust Manifold Locks..but they are not (thats the first thing I thought)! I think they would not "twist" if I could install them slightly different that the AIM shows. It seems that I have to pre-bend the lock tabs up just to fit the lock into place, then as the bolt bottoms down onto the lock, everything starts to twist. I can however fit the lock onto the bolts without pre-bending the tabs, and it even looks more natural of a fit, but its now how the AIM shows it. I'll try the "grease" but it would be a p-off if I'm simply installing these suckers wrong. AC- Top
