C1 BUILD DATE

I have a 1961 Corvette serial #10867S1004xx. Is there a place where I can look up the build date? I ordered a convertible top from Al Knock. I wanted a date stamp on it and they said the serial number is for a 1957 Corvette. Thanks for the help, Joe DeLuca #37862

Would have to be Sept. 60 with that low a number. Can't believe Knoch doesn't know better than to think that is a 57 number.

58 = J58S100001+
59 = J59S100001+
60 = 00867S100001+
61 = 10867S100001+

Yours (10867S1004xx) should have been made in the first month of production for the 1960 model in about the 4th week of September somewhere between Sep 22 and Sep 25, 1960. Am I close?

It was someone who worked there. Not Al himself. I had ordered a top with the date, gave them my serial number. I told them it was a 1961. An hour later they called me back telling me the serial number did not match that of a 1961, it was a serial number for a 1957. I wanted to make sure I did not make a mistake. Thanks, Joe
