    LT-1 cam availability

The availability (or lack thereof)of the Federal Mogul CS-1145R cam that Duke recommends has been discussed numerous times. Tracy recently reported that Mark at JEGS had contacted FM and they ground one for him (8 weeks delivery). Well, they apparently ground several, because when I called Mark today, he checked with FM and they now have them in inventory, available for immediate shipping.

    Re: LT-1 cam availability

Thanks, I'll have to hit up FM for my sales commission check.

Seems they've had a run on CS1145R cams and AT840R lifters.

The AT840R lifters are still not available. Following a suggestion in previous discussions, I substituted the Comp Cams 813-16.

yup, when you guru types drop a crumb or two

of wisdom on us, you can expect this kind of thing...

When I ordered I did mention the recommendation on this board. They must have experienced this kind of spike in sales in the past.

Neither Summit or Jegs invertory these cams. Summit offers free shipping with no handling charge, but didn't care to pursue a special order. Jegs "ships" for free, but did charge an $8 "handling" fee.

At least they went the extra mile on the special order.

I have purchased many obscure cams...

As stock and special order on my "summer job". I'll confess they were all Ford sticks (well, what do you expect at a Mustang specialist) but the supplier actually makes them, to OE spec. I'm sure they could supply LT-1, Duntov, or whatever.
